Describe your character

Add a photo (optional)
To make a character from yourself or a sketch, switch to Image to Image and upload a JPG or PNG of up to 10 MB.

Pick a model and shape
Nano Banana 2 is loaded by default. Choose Square for an avatar or profile pic, Portrait for a full-body character, Widescreen for a scene.

What is an AI character generator?
A tool that draws a character from a written description. You describe who they are, how they look and the style you want, and an image model creates an original character image you can download and use.
Is the AI Character Generator free?
New accounts get 5 free credits, and Nano Banana 2 Lite runs from 1 credit per image, so you can try it without paying. After that it runs on credits; the button shows the price before you run, and a failed run costs nothing.
Can I keep the same character across several images?
Yes. Download the character you like, switch to Image to Image, upload it and describe the new pose or scene while asking to keep the face, hair and outfit. Nano Banana 2 and GPT Image hold a design best.
Can I make a character from my own photo?
Yes. Switch to Image to Image, upload your photo and describe the character you want to become, such as an anime hero or a 3D cartoon. Use your own photos, or photos of people who have agreed.
Which styles can it do?
Anything you can describe: anime, 3D animated, flat cartoon, pixel art, comic book, watercolor, fantasy painting or realistic. Name the style in the prompt; Recraft V3 is strong on flat illustration and Flux on painterly detail.
Can I use the characters I make?
You can download and use the images you generate, for example as an avatar, in a story or as game concept art. Avoid prompts that copy existing franchise characters, which belong to their owners.
Does it make animated avatars or GIFs?
The generator makes still PNG images. To animate a character, take the image to the photo to video tool and describe the motion.
What isn’t allowed?
Sexual or revealing characters, characters based on real celebrities or public figures, and characters made from someone else’s photo without their permission are blocked or not allowed.
