Midjourney Alternative
Midjourney makes beautiful images, but it asks for a subscription before your first picture and gives you one model family. Here you start with free credits, pay only for what you make, and switch between the leading image models on the same prompt.

Cinematic portrait · Flux 2 Max
Cinematic close-up portrait of an old fisherman in a yellow raincoat, rain on his face, harbour lights bokeh, shot on 85mm, moody teal and orange grade, film grain.
02 · What you can do
Midjourney-style prompts to try
Each one is a tap under the prompt field. Run it on two or three models and keep the one you like: that is the main thing a single-model app can’t do.
Cinematic portraits
Lens, light and grade in the prompt give the moody, filmic look Midjourney is known for. Flux 2 Max and Nano Banana Pro are the strongest here.
Fantasy and concept art
Worlds, creatures and key art for games and books. Seedream 4.5 leans painterly; Flux 2 Max leans photographic.
Product and ad photography
Clean studio scenes for shops and ads, without a photographer. Describe the surface, the light and the mood.
Posters with real text
Ideogram 3 and GPT Image spell titles correctly, so a poster or a cover comes out ready to use.
Anime and illustration
Hand-painted backgrounds, cel shading and storybook styles. Name the medium and the mood.
3D and isometric renders
Dioramas, icons and clay renders for decks, apps and social posts.

04 · Why AI
Why people look for a Midjourney alternative
Try before you pay
Midjourney is subscription-only. Here new accounts get free credits, and after that you buy credits when you need them instead of a monthly plan you might not use.
More than one model
Every model has a style and blind spots. Being able to rerun a prompt on Flux, Nano Banana, Seedream or Ideogram is the fastest way to get the picture you had in mind.
Edits and text
Several models here take your own photo and edit it with words, and two of them spell text reliably: jobs that are hard with a pure text-to-image tool.

08 · Prompting
Prompt tips for better results
Midjourney fills gaps with its house style. Other models follow the words more literally, so say what you would otherwise leave to the model.
| Vague | Prompt that works |
|---|---|
| castle, epic, 8k --ar 16:9 --v 6 | Ruined castle on a sea cliff at sunset, storm clouds breaking, cinematic wide shot, volumetric light, painterly detail. (Pick 16:9 in the picker.) |
| cute cat, pixar | A fluffy ginger kitten with big green eyes sitting in a teacup, 3D animated film style, soft studio light, pastel background. |
| logo coffee | Minimal flat logo for a coffee shop called "Slow Pour": a single-line cup with steam, warm brown on cream, the name in a rounded sans-serif. |
| woman portrait beautiful | Editorial portrait of a woman in her 40s with silver-streaked hair, soft window light from the left, linen shirt, neutral backdrop, 85mm, natural skin texture. |
09 · FAQ
Midjourney Alternative FAQ
What is the best Midjourney alternative?
It depends on the picture. For photoreal, cinematic images Flux 2 Max and Nano Banana Pro come closest to Midjourney’s look; for posters and logos with text, Ideogram 3 or GPT Image; for stylised art, Seedream 4.5. This page lets you run all of them on the same prompt.
Is there a free Midjourney alternative?
New accounts get 5 free credits, and Flux Schnell runs from 2 credits per image, so you can try it without paying. After that it runs on credits; the button shows the price before you run, and a failed run costs nothing.
Can I use my Midjourney prompts here?
Yes. Paste the description and leave out the parameters (--ar, --v, --stylize, --chaos). Set the shape with the aspect ratio picker. If a model reads a prompt too literally, add the lens, light and mood you want.
Do I need Discord?
No. Everything runs in the browser on this page. You sign in with Google, and your images are saved to your history.
Can I use the images commercially?
The terms of service cover ownership and use of what you generate, so check them before a commercial project. Whatever the tool, don’t use images that copy someone else’s logo, trademarked characters or a real person’s likeness.
Is this affiliated with Midjourney?
No. ImageFX is an independent site. Midjourney is a trademark of Midjourney, Inc.; we name it only to compare.
What isn’t allowed?
Sexual content, images of real people in misleading or harmful situations, and content that infringes others’ rights are blocked or against the terms.
